This three-day program for Individual Contributors will focus on personal growth through self-reflection, how to take ownership for leadership particularly through change, and how to build relationships across difference.The workshops will run for three weeks and will meet every other week for 3 hours.

Growth through Self Reflection: The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and your personal brand

Thursday, October 12, 2023 (9:00 am to noon)

Goal: The goal of this module is to explore the sixteen personality types and to learn how the facets of the MBTI Step II create a deeper understanding of communication styles at work.

Objectives:

  • Learn about the theory of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.
  • Assess individual MBTI type.
  • Engage in four interactive team exercises to understand communication styles.
  • Explore how one’s MBTI style can create a deeper connection to one’s work-life.
  • Define next steps in the Professional Development Plan.

Taking Ownership for Leadership: Managing Change and Embracing Transitions

Goal: The goal of this course is to discuss change, both personal and organizational, explore the elements of a change transition and adopt strategies to help with the transitional period.

Objectives:

  • To understand what constitutes a work change and a personal change.
  • Explore the transition period of change.
  • Understand the three stages of transition.
  • Explore strategies to help individuals and teams deal with change.
  • Examine the role of mentors and coaches in change.

Building Relationships Across Difference: Embracing a Culture of Diversity and Inclusion

Thursday, November 9, 2023 (9:00 am to noon)

Goal: The goal of this module is to create an awareness of the benefits of diversity, inclusion, and belonging. We will discuss the role of implicit bias, where it comes from, and most importantly to consider creative ways to mitigate bias. The aim is to create an organization that understands and embraces diversity and inclusion for everyone.

Objectives:

  • Examine and discuss the benefits of a diverse organization.
  • Learn about the theory behind how bias develops.
  • Discover the Implicit Association Test (IAT) results.
  • Identify why understanding bias is essential to one’s organization.
  • Participate in the “Window Pane” exercise.
  • Develop creative ways to mitigate bias in one’s department
