About the Speaker: Thea Riofrancos, assistant professor of political science at Providence College, is coauthor of "Planet to Win: Why We Need a Green New Deal" (Verso 2019). Previously, she was a Visiting Fellow at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies (University of Notre Dame), and held a one-year appointment as a visiting scholar at the Facultad de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO) in Quito.
About the Talk: Professor Riofrancos argues that by addressing both climate change and social and economic inequality, the two greatest challenges to humanity, the Green New Deal is a better solution and more politically viable than other current and prior administrations' policies.
