In addition to equipment for audio and video recording and editing, Audio-Visual Services maintains a collection of equipment that is less easily classified. Examples include:
- sound reinforcement equipment
- televisions and video monitors
- video switching and distribution equipment
This equipment is used for special events, copying archival material, and within the department. Much of this equipment is reserved for departmental use, but some may be available for loan to other departments for limited-duration projects.
Generally, A-V Services will keep equipment that is functionally obsolete running as long as parts are available so that archival material can be copied to new formats.
