The Center for Writing provides Toolbox Talks, the "Issues in Writing" series, podcasts with experts in writing, and workshops on teaching writing throughout the year. The Center also offers one-on-one consultations about writing pedagogy or writing materials for courses, and the directors are available to visit your class to run a workshop on a specific element of the writing process to guide your students toward improving their writing.
The Center also curates a Moodle page with resources for teaching writing, which include sample writing and revision activities, materials to help you plan your writing assignments, advice for commenting on student drafts, and best practices for peer review--as well as handouts the Center has provided at every event it has offered since it was established in 2015.
For podcasts, and for more information on the dates and times of workshops this semester, please see the tabs to the left.
To request a one-on-one consultation or to schedule a classroom visit, please email Director Laurie-Ann Britt-Smith.
