Faculty Resources & Support

Throughout the year, the Center for Writing provides workshops for faculty on teaching writing, one-on-one consultations, and in-class workshops on specific elements of the writing process to guide your students toward improving their writing.

The "Sounding Board Session" is a great resource for faculty interested in discussing their own writing and research. During the Spring 2024 semester, sessions are offered every Friday from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. in Dinand 210 (drop-in and by appointment.)

We are also pleased to co-sponsor with Amanda Luyster on faculty writing groups (Shut Up and Write affinity and peer groups). For more information or to sign up for a writing group, please contact centerforwriting@holycross.edu

The Center also curates a Canvas page of pedagogical resources, including sample writing and revision activities, materials to help you plan your writing assignments, advice for commenting on student drafts, and best practices for peer review.

To request a one-on-one consultation, schedule a classroom visit, or be added to the Faculty Pedagogical Resources page, please email Director Laurie-Ann Britt-Smith or centerforwriting@holycross.edu.
