Make an Appointment for Wellness Coaching

Students can make an appointment with either a professional wellness coach in the Student Wellness Education office or with a Peer Wellness Coach.

You will be asked to complete an optional, brief wellness check-in.  The last screen will give you the link to an online appointment calendar, so you can book a session that is convenient with your schedule.

What is Wellness Coaching?

Our Professional and Peer Wellness Coaches are here to help you find the motivation and tools that you need to meet your wellness-related goals.  As a Holy Cross student you have the opportunity to work with a wellness coach who will help you to build a personal toolbox of self-awareness, confidence and other tools that can help you make lasting changes that will positively impact your wellbeing.  As always, your information will always be kept private.

Is It Right for Me?

Students who would like to focus on any of the following may benefit from working with a Wellness Coach:

  • Stress management
  • Self-care
  • Making positive lifestyle changes related to nutrition, physical activity, sleep, etc.
  • Developing and maintaining a positive and healthy mindset
  • Navigating relationships
  • Learning how to take advantage of personal strengths and talents and identify barriers
  • Making hard decisions

***It is important to note that Wellness Coaches are not therapists or psychologists.***
If you believe that severe or ongoing depression, anxiety, or other mental health issues may be a factor for you or you are in crisis, please contact Holy Cross’ Counseling and Psychological Services Office (CAPS).  A therapist can help you to determine whether or not Wellness Coaching is an appropriate fit for you.

How Are Sessions Structured?

Wellness Coaching sessions are held in person.  The first session usually lasts about 45 minutes.  Follow up sessions (if wanted/ needed) can be shorter. Sessions are a collaborative, solution-focused, self-motivated and non-judgmental process that aims to strengthen your self-awareness and empower you to do what is best for you! During your session your coach will collect information from you to get to know you better and understand your personal goals and priorities.

Moving forward, you can continue to meet with your coach as you work toward your goals.  Your coach will offer support and guidance along the way and will help you to hold yourself accountable for working towards your goals as well as celebrate and reinforce your success with you.
