About 250 Holy Cross students (less than 10% of the student body) live in privately owned and operated apartments in the College Hill neighborhood. The College maintains the off-campus address and contact information for all off-campus students. Students who live off-campus are held to high standards of behavior as detailed in the College’s Code of Conduct.

The College’s Department of Public Safety is committed to ensuring a safe and secure community, where students, faculty and staff may experience academic, professional and personal success. To achieve this goal, the Department of Public Safety provides a comprehensive program of police, security, crime prevention, fire safety, emergency medical, parking and related public safety services.
Public Safety officers work together with Worcester Police to share information and have a presence in the neighborhood adjacent to campus. On weekend nights when the College is in session, the College hires Worcester Police officers to assist in patrolling the neighborhood.
