Shanghai, China
Students who study in the language immersion program in Beijing in the fall semester may also elect a second semester in Shanghai.
Shanghai:
Shanghai, a vibrant city of almost 19 million people, is the site of the most vibrant economic development in China. International in culture since the mid-19th century and once known as the Paris of the East, Shanghai sets the trends for China in fashion, design, and the arts.
Academic Program and Course Load:
Students in the Shanghai internship program study at the downtown campus of Donghua University, a private university in the heart of the city conveniently located near subway and bus lines. At the Shanghai program, students continue their language study with 10 hours of Chinese language classes each week, enroll in one course in English on Chinese economics or history for Holy Cross credit, and work as an unpaid intern in a western or Chinese business or agency.

Students live in a dormitory on the campus of Donghua University. All Holy Cross students have Chinese roommates who are students at the university, allowing them to interact with their Chinese peers in informal, comfortable settings.
