Hello, my name is Jeff! I'm a Staff Psychologist and coordinator of the counseling groups we offer at Holy Cross. Counseling groups are a composed of a small group (usually 4-9) of students who meet along with two of our therapists in a safe, comfortable environment to work towards personal growth and their mental health goals. Groups offer a great way to enhance a student's experience at Holy Cross through peer support and an exchange of ideas and insights. They can powerfully remind us that we are not alone as we face our challenges.

Here are a few compelling reasons that you should consider group treatment at Holy Cross:

  • Groups tend to be rated among the most-liked counseling services
  • Peers often "get it" and can offer new perspectives
  • Groups are confidential services and are at no additional cost to students

Though themes of groups vary depending on which group you join, a wide-range of topics are open for discussion in groups. These include but are not limited to adapting to challenges or transitions in life, improving relationships, managing painful feelings, and exploring our identity.
