The Holy Cross Chamber Singers joined Maine-based Figures of Speech Theatre, brining to stage composer David Lang's complex and deeply moving score the little match girl passion (winner of the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Music).

 


Creative Residency with members of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company

Company members Christina Robson and Carlo Antonio Villanueva visited campus throughout the semester, working with students in THEA 199: Movement and Creative Practice to create a new work based loosely on company repertoire.

Theater of War's "Antigone in Ferguson"

Members of the Holy Cross Chamber Singers joined the Phil Woodmore Singers, a choir from Ferguson, MO, to perform the choruses of "Antigone" set to gospel music in this impactful social justice production.

Holy Cross artist-in-residency Jan Müller-Szeraws, cello, and Brooks Scholars Christopher Goessling '18, violin, and Anastasia Dulskiy '19, piano, performed live on the sub-roof of Hogan Center to accompany the dancers on the building's façade.

 


Sō Percussion's "A Gun Show"

From February 7-10, 2017, Arts Transcending Borders hosted contemporary ensemble Sō Percussion in residency at the College of the Holy Cross with their latest project, "A Gun Show"Holy Cross student percussionists performed alongside the company. More »

 


Stickwork: Patrick Dougherty

Fall 2016 Artist-in-Residence Patrick Dougherty enlisted the help of Holy Cross students to construct the Stickworks sculpture "Just Off the Beaten Track" (2016) alongside Linden Lane. Student volunteers bundled and transported branches, stripped leaves, and aided in construction.

 


A Jookin' Jam Session with Lil Buck, Cristina Pato & Friends

On April 29, 2016, international dance artist Lil Buck visited Holy Cross for A Jookin' Jam Session, performing with four enthusiastic students. The performance, co-sponsored by ATB and the Office of Advancement in conjunction with the 2016 Academic Conference, helped kickoff the Become More Campaign at the college.

SWARM

Interactive performance pioneers Troika Ranch joined ATB as the Artists-in-Residence for Fall 2015. Students and faculty collaborated from rehearsals through to performance, presenting a multimedia installation/performance at the culmination of the residency.

 


The Camino Experience: Making the Way

Students, faculty and staff joined together with visiting artist Cristina Pato to create and perform "The Camino Experience: Making the Way," a work-in-progress exploring the many routes of El Camino de Santiago de Compostela through words, music and imagery.
