It is important to understand Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) cannot divulge the names of students who are using, or have in the past used its services, nor can it release any information about the content of specific psychotherapy interviews without a student's written permission or as may be required by law.
CAPS's adherence to legal and ethical standards necessitates a very strict commitment to this policy.
A student, or a student leader such as a Resident Assistant or Peer Educator who is interested in a student's contact with CAPS may obtain this information directly from the student. The student is in a position to reveal information about their own contact with CAPS at their discretion.
