Jazz Ensemble

The Holy Cross Jazz Ensemble is a large instrumental jazz band that includes saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a jazz rhythm section (keyboard, guitar, bass, and drums).

The group plays traditional Big Band music, from the Swing Era to contemporary funk and Latin jazz. The music includes plenty of opportunity for the players to improvise.

The group performs a number of times a year, and often features various jazz artists of national renown. The ensemble also participates in the annual Worcester College Jazz Festival each spring. Student players are accepted by audition, and the Ensemble rehearses on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 p.m.
