Please note: The Business, Ethics, and Society minor is available only to students in the classes of 2022 and 2023. The program is currently being reviewed for future classes.
Students interested in the minor in Business, Ethics, and Society must apply for admission to the program through the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, following the procedures and dates outlined there. Applications are usually due the first Friday in October and the second Friday in February.
In order to be eligible to apply, you must first
- complete either the accounting or the economics requirement,
- complete the Business Fundamentals Requirement, or be currently registered for an upcoming session, and
- complete Capitalism in Context.
In addition to completing the preliminary coursework, the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies requires you to identify a central theme or project within the broader area of “business, ethics, and society” as part of your application. You can see some examples of previous projects on the About page. The goal of your application is to show how your proposed courses will contribute to a deeper, more nuanced understanding of your central theme.
We strongly recommend that you meet with the BES advisor to discuss your proposed theme and your proposed curriculum before submitting your application.
