In the event of a significant emergency or dangerous situation involving a potential immediate threat to the health or safety of the Holy Cross community, we will initiative the Blackboard Connect emergency notification message (phone, email, and text message), unless doing so will, in the professional judgment of responsible authorities, compromise the College’s efforts to respond to an emergency.
To the extent appropriate and practical, these messages will be pre-scripted to enable rapid distribution. As our understanding of an event unfolds, emergency managers will collaborate with our public information officers to send follow-up communications as necessary to maintain community awareness. Such communications may be made by email, social media, website, public address announcements, paper postings, or megaphone.
