Hello everyone! My name is Victoria. I am 24 years old. I am from Moscow; it’s the capital of Russia and a very beautiful city. I have BA in Pedagogy and MA in Linguistics. I am currently studying at Music College as an opera singer and getting education as a teacher of Russian as a second language.
I love studying new things and being acquainted with new people. Now I continue learning Chinese, as for me, it is one of the most mysterious languages. I had the opportunity to study in China twice and there I got some experience teaching English to Chinese students. Recently, I have been working as a teacher of Chinese for scholars and as a hostess of the Russian Conversation Club for Chinese.
However, my favorite language is Russian. Of course, I love Russia, its culture, literature and traditions. I always say that I don’t know any language thoroughly, especially Russian, because learning Russian can be an everlasting experience, even for a native speaker.
As for my personality, I like to achieve new goals, try to get new qualifications each year or improve my present knowledge. I have an addiction: travelling! I adore discovering new places, peoples’ traditions, tasting unknown food, taking part in traditional activities, such as dancing, singing, cooking, etc. Nevertheless, I have never been to the USA so this will be a new experience.
In my free time, I like to meet friends and spend time together at theaters or museums, because we can share our emotions and impressions together. I like reading, dancing, doing yoga, baking cakes, and taking care of flowers as well.
Therefore, I am happy to come here, to Holy Cross, and share all my knowledge and experience about Russia and the Russian language with you. I’m sure that you will love Russia;))
