Silvia Rodríguez

¡Buenas!

My name is Silvia and I will be one of your new Spanish FLAs for the 2021/2022 academic course. I’m 24 years old and I come from Almería, a town located in the region of Andalucía, in the southeast of Spain on the Mediterranean Sea. However, I have spent many years living in Granada, a city close to where I was born, studying at the university. Both places are wonderful and I can't wait to tell you all about them!

After finishing a degree in Translation and Interpreting and a Master's degree in Culture of Peace and Human Rights, I decided to follow this path, as my ultimate profesional goal is to become not only a spanish teacher, but also a cultural embassador of my country, which is why this program stood out to me so much.

I love to travel and to know different countries and cultures. So far I have lived not only in Spain, but also in the United Kingdom, France and Brazil, that is why this opportunity aligns perfectly with my passion for exploring other places and for cultural and linguistic exchange. Besides, I love reading, cooking and speding time outdoors, so maybe one day we could go on a hyke or cook some typical spanish dishes.

I am beyond excited to get to know you and to share my culture and language with everyone as a FLA at the College of the Holy Cross. Looking forward to meeting you all in class. See you soon!

Silvia.
