¡Hola!
My name is Henrry Ibáñez and I will be part of the Spanish FLA team this academic year. I am very excited about this experience that we will share together! I was born and raised in Arequipa, a city in the southern area of Perú. I consider that my country, and the rest of them in Latin America, are full of traditions and have a great cultural richness. Therefore, in addition to learning Spanish, I will be very happy to share them with you.
I live in Lima, the capital city of Perú, where I obtained my Hispanic Literature Degree at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. I had the opportunity to teach, as a teaching assistant, courses of Academic research, Theater and Introduction to literature at that university. These experiences have shown me that teaching is my vocation. So I can’t wait to start working together.
In addition to academics, I love movies, reading, travelling and doing sports. Also, I spend a good part of my time as a volunteer firefighter. This was a decision that marked my life. I am pretty excited to share some experiences of myself and my country with you!
I am sure that this will be a fulfilling year. I’m very much looking forward to meeting all of you and also learn from your experiences!
