Hola! I am Anaité and I will be one of your Spanish FLAs this academic year. I am from Lima, the capital city of Perú, where I obtained my Performing Arts Degree. Yes, I love theatre, dance and music. I am also a singer and voice teacher and that’s why we’ll probably do some fun voice exercises in class!
The first time I lived in the United States was for an exchange program for a full academic year in the University of New Mexico. That year changed my life, I made amazing friends from all over the world and I got to improve my skills as a performer. Also, that was the time when I discovered I wanted to specialize as a singer. After a few years, I discovered teaching as another passion. I’ve been teaching voice since 2016 and I still don’t believe it! Thanks to my experience teaching, now I know that learning voice technique helps improving communication skills, because it exercises the muscles needed for the right pronunciation, but most of all because it develops confidence in one’s voice.
I hope during this period of time we get to learn from each other while practicing Spanish! I will do my best to help you get where you wanna get on your speaking practice. I am so excited for what’s yet to come.
