Closing the Distance

The “Closing the Distance” video series, produced by the College Chaplains, aims to draw the Holy Cross community together in faith by pointing us to the Church’s Sunday Scripture readings and offering a saving word where solace and wisdom might be found.

One of the experiences Holy Cross students say is so meaningful to them is the opportunity to hear homilies and reflections from Jesuits and chaplains who can speak to their experience. As students departed campus in mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Chaplains wondered how they might continue to unite our dispersed community in prayer in these troubled times by sharing a sense of hope and light with one another.

The “Closing the Distance” video reflection series aims to do just that: to offer a saving word where solace and wisdom might be found. While the videos are created with the campus community in mind, the words of hope from Holy Cross Jesuits and chaplains are just as meaningful to all members of the wider Holy Cross family: alumni, parents, friends and benefactors.

The Chaplains intend to keep producing the series past the end of the academic year.
