J.D. Power Center for Liberal Arts in the World

The J.D. Power Center for Liberal Arts in the World helps students identify and pursue opportunities outside of the classroom, and to better articulate the value of these opportunities as part of a Holy Cross education.

Experiential learning — the process of learning by doing — is an essential element of a liberal arts education; it transforms students from knowledge consumers to knowledge producers. It also helps students to adjust their trajectory through college, as hands-on experiences provide feedback about their vocational aspirations.

The J.D. Power Center is the central hub for experiential learning at Holy Cross. Whether it is an internship, a community-based learning course, or a research project, each Holy Cross student should be looking for opportunities to move their education off campus, and to integrate the classroom with the global community.

Holy Cross invites students to "set the world on fire" by providing them with funds to match their questions to the world’s needs.
A number of offices at Holy Cross are ready to connect you to experiential learning opportunities.
Read testimonials and hear from students who describe their experiences as transformative.
Learn more about hands-on learning opportunities at Holy Cross, and how you can get involved.
The director of the J.D. Power Center for Liberal Arts in the World is eager to help connect your classroom experience to the world.
