Eligibility

• First and second-year students are not eligible to bring their vehicles onto campus due to limited parking capacity
• Juniors and seniors are eligible to apply for parking passes
• Commuters and off-campus (overnight) vehicles must have a valid parking decal 

Location

Student parking is available in lots 3, 4 and 5 and the parking garage bottom floors off Lower Kimball road. All student parking spaces have been painted PURPLE. All student parking lots have purple signs with the lot number.

You can apply for a parking exception through the Transportation Office. Compassionate requests are limited. 

Medical exception requests for first and second year students go through the Office of Student Accessibility Services. You must have an approved exception or accommodation in place before you can bring your vehicle onto campus.

Parking is limited on campus. There are approximately 700 student parking spaces and our eligible Junior and Senior classes total over 1600.

You can apply for a parking exception through the office of Transportation for employment purposes related to paying tuition, and for immediate family assistance. Immediate family is defined as parents, guardians, and siblings only. The application for this process can be found on the Parking Dashboard.

Note: You should only apply through one of these offices, not both.

Grace period for not displaying your parking pass will end on 9/6/26. All vehicles must have a valid decal located in the lower left corner of the driver's windshield. All permits must be permanently affixed to the windshield. Decals that are taped, on the dashboard, or in other areas will be deemed invalid. 

Students with valid permits may park in Lots 3, 4, 5 and P1, and P2 of the parking garage. All other areas on campus are off-limit at all times. Including Summer, breaks, and weekends.

• Off-campus (Overnight): Lots 3, 4, 5, or Parking Garage (bottom floors)

All student parking spaces have been painted purple. If the space isn’t purple, it’s not for students.

Students may not park anywhere on campus that is not a designated student lot. Student parking is only allowed in lots 3,4,5 and P1 and P2.

Luth and Hogan lots are for staff and event guests only. Linden and Haberlin Lane are for Admission guests. 

• Linden Lane, Haberlin Road, O'Kane Square (8 am - 5 pm weekdays, noon Saturdays)
• Loyola Lot (Faculty/Staff only)
• On Street, in front of dorms, Alumni, O'Neill, Kimball Quad, Stein, Carlin, any roadway is considered a fire lane, Fenwick, Memorial Plaza, Fitton Ave, Library Road, Public Safety, Hogan visitors lot, RideShare lot, and others not mentioned

• 6 or more parking tickets or parking violations
• Blocking traffic, fire hydrants, or emergency vehicles
• Lack of valid parking decal

Must be submitted within 5 days or appeal will be denied. A QR code is provided on the citation to appeal or pay. All first and second year student (without a valid decal) appeals will be denied on the basis they are not eligible to have a vehicle on campus  

If denied, students have 5 days to pay their parking citations. Failure to pay fines may lead to registration holds and/or cap and gown holds.

All appeals must be completed through the online parking dashboard found at parking.holycross.edu. Click the ticket, then appeal, and submit your response. After four parking violations, students will no longer have the ability to appeal parking citations. Any student without a valid decal cannot appeal parking citations. 

The city of Worcester has designated most streets adjacent to the campus as "Resident Permit Required." Therefore, these streets are restricted to residents who display a city of Worcester parking permit. In addition, the city of Worcester winter parking ban on all streets is in effect in inclement weather. Visit the city of Worcester site for more information on winter parking.

Students who chose to park on College Street or adjacent streets do so at their own risk. In inclement weather students without a valid parking decal will not be able or allowed to park on campus. The City of Worcester does tow vehicles without notice. Make sure you sign up for the weather alerts to be kept informed of all parking bans to plan accordingly. 

Please add that anyone parking on the street should register for the City of Worcester’s emergency alerts to be notified of parking bans, restrictions, and changes. 

The College assumes no risk or liability for damage or loss for vehicles or vehicle contents when parked on College property.

State law requires Holy Cross to post the following notice to all students who are not Massachusetts residents:

Per Section 3 of Chapter 90 of the Massachusetts general laws, it is unlawful for a nonresident student to fail to file a Nonresident Driver Statement (PDF) with the police department located in the same city or town as the school or college they attend. Failure to file such statement is punishable by a fine not to exceed $200.

Under Massachusetts law, if out-of-state students bring cars to campus, but choose not to register the car with the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles, then they must file a nonresident driver statement with the local police department. Regardless of whether or not they apply for on-campus parking, they are required to register as a nonresident driver. After filing the nonresident driver statement with the Transportation and Parking office, students will receive the nonresident student driver decal. This sticker is not valid for parking on College Hill or within the Worcester City Limits.

This decal must be prominently displayed in the uppermost center portion of the vehicle’s windshield. 
Holy Cross students living within the limits of Worcester City should contact the City of Worcester’s Parking Department for information on resident parking.
