Description
Take Back the Night (TBTN) for the Fall 2026 semester will be Tuesday, October 20th from 7:00-9:00pm starting on the Hoval.
The most powerful aspect of this night is the stories that are read. These stories are a way to bring us together and hear about someone’s experience. Student voices are extremely important and we want survivors' voices to be heard.
We invite members of the campus community to volunteer to read a piece. This could be your own personal submission or an existing piece such as an exerpt from a book, poem, or song. If you are interested in any of those options please fill out this form!
We appreciate your interest and will send out more information as we approach the event. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you
NOTE:
As described in the College’s Sexual Misconduct Policy, public awareness events such as “Take Back the Night”, candlelight vigils, “survivor speak outs” and other public forms in which individuals disclose incidents of sexual violence, dating or domestic violence or stalking are NOT CONSIDERED notice to the College adequate to trigger an obligation to investigate. However, such events may inform the College’s prevention and education efforts.
Please note that disclosures of sexual or relationship violence when participating in Take Back the Night or by sharing a survivor story will NOT result in an investigation by the Office of Title IX and Equal Opportunity. Should you wish to report an instance of sexual or relationship violence please contact Derek DeBobes, Director of Title IX and Equal Opportunity/ Title IX Coordinator either via email: ddebobes@holycross.edu or phone: (508) 793-3336.
