There are endless ways to stay active at Holy Cross. Play pickleball or pick-up basketball in the Jo. Swim the six-lane pool atop The Hill inside the Luth Athletic Center. Lift weights at Loyola Fitness Studio or walk one of the several trails around campus.
Recreational Facilities
The 'Jo'
Through the generosity of John Luth ’74 and Joanne Chouinard-Luth, D.M.D., “The Jo” opened in 2021. A jogging track is suspended across the second floor looking over several basketball courts that transform into volleyball and pickleball courts. The Jo also has locker rooms, yoga rooms, spin classes, fitness classes and weight rooms. The center is home to all club and intramural sports, as well as recreation, fitness and wellness programming for students, faculty and staff.
Loyola Fitness Studio
The Loyola Fitness Studio is 2,800 square feet of space dedicated to cardiovascular and strength training. The space features dozens of exercise machines, strength machines and free weights.
Access the Facilities
Facilities are accessible to current students, employees and emeriti faculty. Prior to arrival, everyone must sign a one-time, annual Facility Use Waiver before using Campus Recreation spaces.

Group Classes
Join a variety of instructor-led, group exercise classes such as yoga, pilates, spin and weight training. Classes are fun and customized to fit all levels of experience.

Orientations & Goal Setting
Meet with campus recreation staff for a 30-minute orientation where you’ll tour the building and learn the basics of using the weight machines and cardio equipment.
