Information Regarding 2020 Reunion
Yesterday morning, Fr. Boroughs sent a message to the campus community and the senior class with the news that we will not be able to hold Commencement as scheduled in May. As a follow up to his message, I am writing to those in our 2020 reunion classes to let you know that we are also postponing our two reunion weekends in late May and early June.
Everyone connected to Holy Cross knows how important these events are in the life of the College. This is deeply disappointing news for the Class of 2020 and it is also disappointing for so many of you who had plans to renew your connections to classmates, friends and the College later this spring.
I suspect this message does not come as a surprise. We held off making these decisions as long as we reasonably could, but with all we know and with what the experts are telling us, we didn’t feel we could wait any longer.
If you have attended a reunion in the past you can certainly appreciate all of the work and effort that goes into planning these gatherings. My colleagues and I would like to applaud the class chairs, reunion chairs and reunion volunteers that have continued to pour countless hours into fundraising and reconnecting with their classmates. Our reunions are successful because of your wonderful engagement.
Whether it's your fifth or sixty-fifth reunion, we are committed to celebrating these milestone anniversaries with you. Our team has been in touch with reunion chairs and we will continue to gather ideas about how to celebrate when this public health crisis passes. We welcome your suggestions and invite you to submit them through this form: Reunion Celebration Ideas.
These are challenging times for so many. As Fr. Boroughs said in his email to the campus, amid all the uncertainty, we do know for certain that “the greater Holy Cross community will be there for each other and for those in our own communities who need support.”
Please know how grateful we are for all the ways you support Alma Mater. Please stay in touch, stay safe and stay healthy.
My very best,
Tracy W. Barlok P19
Vice President for Advancement
Reunion is the largest alumni event held each year. Whether it has been five or 65 years since you were last on campus, you are always welcome back on The Hill.
