Faculty and Staff Children Exchange (FACHEX) Program
FACHEX allows dependents eligible for tuition remission at their home institution (parent's employer) to be considered for a scholarship at one of the 26 participating Jesuit institutions.
The Faculty and Staff Children Exchange Program (FACHEX) is an undergraduate tuition remission (scholarship) program for the dependents of full-time faculty, administration and staff of the participating institutions. Each institution is responsible for determining admission and scholarship decisions, and neither admission nor receipt of a FACHEX scholarship is guaranteed.
FACHEX for Employees of Other Jesuit Universities (Incoming Students)
Employees of other Jesuit universities should submit the FACHEX EZ Online Application. The FACHEX Coordinator at your institution will submit proof of your eligibility via the Tuition Exchange platform. Questions regarding eligibility should be directed to the FACHEX Coordinator or Human Resources contact at your home institution.
Your dependent student should apply to Holy Cross via the Common Application or Coalition Application. Early Decision I, Early Decision II and Regular Decision applicants are eligible for FACHEX consideration. Early Decision applicants should consider the binding nature of an Early Decision commitment prior to applying. If the FACHEX offer will play a major role in the final enrollment decision, the student should apply via Regular Decision.
| Application Plan | Early Decision I | Early Decision II | Regular Decision |
|---|---|---|---|
| Application Deadline | November 15 | January 15 | January 15 |
| Decision Notification | December 15 | February 15 | Mid-March |
We strongly encourage you to complete the FAFSA and the CSS Profile to complete the financial aid process. It is in your best interest to file these applications so that we may provide you with an estimated financial aid offer in the event you do not receive a FACHEX offer.
FACHEX decisions for all applicants (including Early Decision) will be released in the middle of March, in tandem with Regular Decision notification. Holy Cross typically receives 30-50 applications from FACHEX-eligible students. Three scholarships are offered per year. We will maintain a waitlist and notify Admitted students promptly of any change in their FACHEX status.
If you receive a FACHEX Scholarship, it will supersede any other financial aid offer provided by the College of the Holy Cross. This scholarship is offered to students for up to four years, or a maximum of eight semesters. The scholarship is renewable provided that the student’s parent remain employed at their home institution. Recipients must maintain good academic progress and a satisfactory disciplinary record.
The value of the FACHEX Scholarship is equal to the amount charged for tuition only. Students are expected to pay all fees, housing and meal charges. Students may use the FACHEX Scholarship to participate in approved Holy Cross study abroad programs during the academic year.
Please note: At Holy Cross, FACHEX Scholarships are awarded to incoming first year students. Current or returning students not offered the scholarship at the time of admission are not eligible for FACHEX consideration. Transfer students are not eligible for FACHEX consideration.
