The Internship Fund at Work
Thanks in part to the Crusader Internship Fund, Michelle Rife was able to spend the summer with NOAA Fisheries working in the science communications realm and even jumping on a survey trip.
Learn directly from professionals working in the field, gain valuable hands-on experience.
Holy Cross students continue on to successful careers in all fields and disciplines — but their vocational journey begins well before commencement. During their undergraduate careers, students receive career mentoring and support, as well a number of opportunities to acquire invaluable career-related experience through internships.
Coordinated by the J.D. Power Center, the Academic Internship Program (AIP) is offered for third and fourth year students and provides the opportunity for students to intern 8-10 hours weekly and take a seminar on a subject related to their internship. While students take the lead in finding an internship, support is available to facilitate the internship search including individual advising, access to internship listings on Handshake and our alumni mentor database, as well as a list of prior AIP internship sites.
Through Experiential Learning Partial Credit (ELPC), students who participate in an extensive internship or research experience may have this experience noted on their academic transcript. The ELPC, coordinated through the J.D. Power Center, is offered twice annually: once for summer experiences and once for academic year experiences.
In addition to the many options posted from the Center for Career Development, the Holy Cross alumni network offers many opportunities in a multitude of fields, including advertising, sales, finance, medicine, law, publishing research and social services, among others.

Because not all internships are compensated by the employer, we’re here to help. The Crusader Internship Fund supports matriculating sophomores and juniors completing an unpaid summer internship.
My internship was just a really cool opportunity, one that otherwise I didn’t know I could have explored at all.
