The Office of Sponsored Research at the College of the Holy Cross supports faculty scholarship and research endeavors by providing a multitude of resources and information instrumental to principal investigators in all stages of their careers.
We assist faculty in all proposal development activities from finding funding support, whether internal scholarship initiatives or external research funding and fellowship opportunities. Proposal development activities include reviewing narratives for clarity and alliance with a sponsors mission and goals, preparing budgets and budget narratives which adequately represents the work supported, as well as adherence to sponsor guidelines and the College of the Holy Cross mission, policies and procedures.
The Office of Sponsored Research collaborates with the Dean’s Office, as well as the Controller’s Office in order to obtain approvals/signatures which aid in a well-developed proposal that represents and supports the Principal Investigator and the College of the Holy Cross.
The Office of Sponsored Research also represents the College with regard to other collaborating institutions, Co-Principal Investigators and is the sponsor contact to ensure a smooth and transparent proposal development process.
We also assist with the negotiating and acceptance of awards for the College. After an award is granted, the Office of Sponsored Research assists with post-award activities such as rebudgeting, no-cost extensions, and any other items which may arise during the time period of the award. We work very closely with the Controller’s Office with respect to financial management of awards so to ensure compliance of any federal regulations or foundation requirements.
The Office of Sponsored Research is here to assist at any time and we look forward to working with you in your efforts of scholarship and research.
