Fall April 1 Rolling (after April 1) Rolling

What is required to apply:

We require students applying for transfer admission to submit the Common Application’s “Transfer Application.” The application form (www.commonapp.org) must be sent electronically. There is no fee to apply.

Make sure you have answered all questions thoroughly and precisely. Remember, you are your best advocate, so take some time when completing each section of the application. If the forms do not provide enough space, feel free to use additional sheets.

A final official transcript of all high school work is required.

A complete official transcript(s) of all college work, including current-semester courses and grades, is required. If your current semester courses are still in progress, a midterm progress, the midterm report available at www.commonapp.org should be submitted by the application deadline indicating what courses you are taking, and your current grade in each course, signed and dated by each of your current professors.  An official final transcript for all coursework still must be submitted, as soon as it is available.

Two (2) professor recommendations from current professors are preferred. If you cannot submit two professor recommendations, we will gladly accept high school or personal recommendations in their place. Please contact admissions@holycross.edu if you do not intend to submit professor recommendations. Additional letters of support are always welcome.

This statement, completed by the Dean of Students at the college you are currently attending, is to verify that you are in good academic and disciplinary standing at your institution. The College Official's Form is available at www.commonapp.org. If you are not currently enrolled, please contact our office to have this requirement waived.

The Midterm Progress Report is intended to give an estimation of your in-progress grades (not midterm exam grades) for courses in which you are currently enrolled. If you are not currently enrolled, please request a Transfer Midterm Report Waiver.

Course descriptions are required for all college courses completed or in progress. Course descriptions can be found on your institution's online course catalog. Descriptions should be compiled into one PDF or Word document, and uploaded directly via your applicant status page.

What is optional:

  • Interview: An interview with a member of the Admissions Staff is highly recommended for all transfer applicants. We offer virtual interviews, and they can be scheduled using our online scheduling calendar. Interviews are offered Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. — 4:00 p.m.
    • Fall Transfer Interview Deadline: December 1
    • Spring Transfer Interview Deadline: May 1
  • Standardized Test Scores: The submission of standardized test scores is optional. If you are submitting testing, request scores be sent to the College. The College Board code number is 3282. The American College Testing Program code is 1810. Students who opt not to submit scores will not be at any disadvantage.
  • Supplementary Materials: Students with strong extracurricular interests are invited to submit samples of their talent. Our most common submissions are of a musical, theatrical or artistic nature. These materials may be in the form of images (jpg, png, gif), videos (mov, wmv, flv, mp4), PDF, or MP3, and should be submitted through the Common Application or via our SlideRoom website.
