Our senior interviewers are talented, current Holy Cross students who have diverse interests and represent the breadth of backgrounds and academic pursuits we have here in our spirited community. They have all been trained as one-on-one admissions interviewers, and they look forward to hearing about you and how you challenge yourself and share your proudest moments.

Plans after HC: My plan is to explore the New York theatre scene after graduation, most likely as an actor. I know that at some point on my journey I will return to education, either in the theatre department of a school or the education department of a theatre. Until then, I am excited for the experiences I will have in New York.
Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: I was in the ensemble of ACT's musical Chicago when I was in my first year, so I got to be in a lot of musical numbers, and a few were with just the male ensemble. In rehearsals, I grew close to the other four men in the ensemble, and we even adopted the rally cry, "We Dem Boyz." I don't consider myself a good dancer, but the numbers I was in with those guys, and especially rehearsing them, were some of the most enjoyable times I have had at Holy Cross and in any show I have been in.

Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: I have had many fond memories at Holy Cross, but the homecoming game in particular sticks out in my mind as especially fun.

Plans after HC: Upon graduating from Holy Cross, I plan to attend law school. Eventually, I hope to enter the legal profession as a trial attorney, thereby focusing on government and the law, my twin passions. Perhaps one day I will even fulfill my loftiest aspirations of serving as a federal judge or holding elected office. Above all, though, I endeavor to carry my Jesuit education with me wherever I go, while also remembering -- and living by -- Teddy Roosevelt's observation that "the credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena."
Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: Accompanying nearly 50 of my classmates and friends on a rowdy bus ride from Dublin to Belfast to cheer on the Crusaders in the Belfast Men's Basketball Classic.

 

Caroline Ambrose

Plans after HC: I’m very interested in Digital/Social Media, particularly in the news industry.
Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: One of the highlights of my Holy Cross experience was attending the Holy Cross Men’s Basketball tournament in Belfast, Northern Ireland with almost every other HC student who was studying abroad in Europe. Even on another continent, the Holy Cross pride and spirit was so present.

Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: My favorite Holy Cross memory is first-year move-in. It is such a blast to see the enthusiasm and excitement from incoming students and families and to be a part of their special day!

Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: A top highlight of my HC experience has definitely been the Spring Break Immersion Program. I am extremely excited to expand my domestic immersion experiences by going to Haiti in January!

Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: Every Friday afternoon a firend and I co-host a radio show together. Ending each week with good friends and good music is certainly a major highlight of my Holy Cross experience.

Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: One highlight of my Holy Cross experience was my Montserrat (first year) seminar. I came to Holy Cross intending to major in psychology and without knowing anyone. Throughout the course of my year-long seminar on personal journeys in the context of war, my classmates and I formed a close-knit community, and I was inspired to major in history.

Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: The New York City Semester Program has been the most eye-opening experience during my time at Holy Cross. Not only did I gain valuable experience during my internship at a world-class CEO advisory firm, I also connected with phenomenal Holy Cross alumni in the finance, fashion, and media industries.

Plans after HC: After Holy Cross I hope to complete a year of service through a program such as the Jesuit Volunteer Corps or the Fulbright Program. After, I want to continue my education by receiving a master's or doctorate degree in Sociology or Religious Studies to eventually teach.
Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: One highlight of my Holy Cross experience was the summer between sophomore and junior year when I conducted research on campus through the Weiss Summer Research Program. The work was exciting and challenging, and I got to travel to the Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives in Toronto with my research partner to gather material. I think every student should try to experience a Holy Cross summer research program.

Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: My highlight is the London Maymester program. I was able to see all types of theatre in a beautiful city with classmates who I became close friends with at the end of the month! It was a wonderful experience.

Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: One highlight of my Holy Cross experience is meeting some of the greatest people, friends, and professors! I feel blessed to have the chance to work and study with them, doing the things I enjoy every day.

Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: My favorite experience at Holy Cross is the fireworks show during Spring Weekend. It is always a good time watching the show from the hill behind Williams Hall.

Plans after HC: I am hoping to work in the architecture/design field for a few years before returning to school for a graduate architecture program.
Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: There are countless highlights, but planning and attending the Christmas Tree Lighting is one of my favorite memories at Holy Cross.  I love getting involved in this event and seeing the whole campus community come together during such a busy time of the semester.

Plans after HC: The end goal is to go on to medical school. However, I’m currently deciding what I want to do during my gap year(s). I’m considering continuing my education with a master’s program, or getting life experience volunteering or working, possibly with the Peace Corps.
Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: There are so many, but one highlight not only of my time at HC, but my life in general, was studying abroad in Ireland. The Study Abroad Office played such a huge role in helping me make the most of my experience, and allowed me to truly enjoy each part of the process, even parts that could have been really stressful! Looking back, studying abroad has been one of the most transformative experiences during my time at HC.

Plans after HC: I currently plan to attend graduate school and pursue my PhD in biology. I am considering first taking a gap year to work as a research assistant, pursue a research/teaching opportunity abroad, or engage in a year of volunteering/service.
Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: I participated in the Washington D.C. Semester Program where I was able to investigate the intersection of science and policy through my internship with the Department of State. This is one of many Holy Cross experiences through which I have been able to explore a range of academic interests thanks to the interdisciplinary nature of our liberal arts education.

Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: One highlight of my Holy Cross experience has been the opportunity to study abroad in Dublin, Ireland for the first semester of my junior year. While abroad, I was able to immerse myself in the culture, connect with other Holy Cross students and even watch the Holy Cross men's basketball team compete in the Belfast Classic.

Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: Serving as a Community-Based Learning (CBL) intern has been one of several highlights of my Holy Cross experiences. Through facilitating classroom reflection sessions, assisting with the Non-Profit Careers Conference, and tutoring students in Worcester, I have been exposed to many communities, cultures, and perspectives that have positively impacted my time on the Hill.

Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: My most memorable moment at Holy Cross was my time in Washington as I had the opportunity to work for Illinois Senator Richard Durbin. Throughout the day, I would walk the halls of the Capitol building, meet politicians, and work on critical issues on a national scale. The Washington Semester Program has shaped what I would like to do after graduation as it exposed me to American politics.

Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: The people within the Holy Cross community have made my experience unforgettable. From my friends and professors to the Kimball staff, the Holy Cross community has provided me with perspectives, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Plans after HC: As of now I am planning on returning to work for the company that I interned with this past summer, Transperfect. The company is a language service provider headquartered in NYC, however there are offices around the country and world! 
Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: A major highlight was for sure when the Men's Basketball team made it to March Madness my freshman year. The whole campus rallied behind them and it was so fun to get to watch the team achieve so much success! This also coincided with St. Patrick's Day, so the atmosphere on campus was incredibly spirtied and positive.

Name one highlight of your Holy Cross experience: If I have to name one highlight it would be working for Gateways Orientation! Every time that I got to work for Gateways, I got to know a brilliant group of fellow Orientation Leaders and some of the most aspiring minds of the incoming class. It has always been challenging but also rewarding.
