Biography
Wenxin Du is an Assistant Professor of Statistics in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the College of the Holy Cross. She received her Ph.D. in Statistics from The Ohio State University in 2025, where her dissertation focused on developing Bayesian model diagnostic methods through Case Deletion Analysis.
Her research primarily centers on Bayesian model diagnostics and the application of Bayesian hierarchical models in interdisciplinary contexts. She is particularly interested in understanding model validity and improving tools for detecting structural misfit in Bayesian models. Her ongoing collaborations include modeling user behavior in Virtual Reality environments to support design decisions and developing statistical frameworks for astronomical modeling. Her collaborative work in astrophysics has resulted in a publication in The Astrophysical Journal, and she continues to explore innovative ways to apply Bayesian methodology across diverse scientific domains.
