Biography
Alexandra Mira Alonso is originally from Barcelona. She received her Ph.D. in Spanish from Georgetown University. Her research explores the politics of aesthetics in twentieth- and twenty-first-century Iberian cultures, with particular attention to the ways working-class cultural and media forms are appropriated, commodified, and reimagined under neoliberalism. Her articles have been published in Hispania, Catalan Review, Hispanófila, Romance Notes, among other journals, and recently received the Catalan Review Article Prize for Outstanding Work in the Field of Catalan Studies (2026).
