Faculty Openings

The College of the Holy Cross is a highly selective Catholic liberal arts college in the Jesuit tradition. It enrolls about 3,200 students and is located in Worcester, Massachusetts — New England’s second-largest city. The College seeks faculty members who demonstrate an enduring commitment to academic excellence and inclusive excellence and who embrace the educational benefits of a richly diverse community.
Update re: Sept. 19 H1-B Proclamation
Holy Cross is monitoring the evolving situation regarding H-1B visa applications. The recent elevation of the fee for new H-1B applications to $100,000 would impose a significant and unsustainable financial burden on the College and chill our efforts to recruit outstanding faculty who are drawn to our Jesuit, Catholic liberal arts mission. Only after Holy Cross makes an offer of appointment will we inquire with respect to immigration status and assess the most appropriate visa for the appointee. There may be different potential visa options which depend upon a faculty member’s circumstances and qualifications.
Going forward, the College will provide information about visa sponsorship on faculty positions when they are advertised. We will provide regular updates on the College’s approach to visa sponsorship for H-1B applications on this page.
In the meantime, we remind candidates not to disclose their citizenship status to search committees, and we have reminded search committees that, in accordance with applicable law, they may not seek or use information about citizenship status in their deliberations.
Opportunities for Jesuits
The College welcomes conversations with Jesuits who are interested in discussing the possibility of joining an academic department at Holy Cross. We encourage Jesuits to contact Keith Maczkiewicz, S.J., Ed.D., Associate Vice President for Mission and Ministry (kmaczkiewicz@holycross.edu), and Aaron Seider, Dean of Faculty (aseider@holycross.edu), to discuss their interests, Holy Cross, and potential pre- or post-doctoral positions at the College.
