Office of Sponsored Research
Supporting scholarly pursuits.
The Office of Sponsored Research supports faculty and staff in their research endeavors, including aid with grant management, contracts and research agreements.
Supporting Scholarship. Enabling Discovery. Ensuring Compliance.
The Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) serves as the central hub for externally funded research and scholarly activity at Holy Cross. We partner with faculty and staff to facilitate the successful pursuit and management of grants, contracts, and research agreements while upholding the highest standards of regulatory compliance, ethical conduct and institutional stewardship.

Our Partnership with Faculty and Researchers
Early Project Consultation
OSR works with faculty at the concept stage to help shape project ideas and connect investigators with appropriate external funding opportunities.
Proposal Preparation and Submission
We provide end-to-end proposal support, including budget development, sponsor-required documentation, certifications and institutional forms. Our office assists with proposal structuring based on sponsor guidelines, coordinates institutional letters of support, manages submissions involving external collaborators, verifies compliance with College and federal policies and submits proposals on behalf of the institution.
Award Management and Sponsor Coordination
Following award issuance, OSR supports ongoing sponsor communication and ensures principal investigators are informed of reporting schedules and compliance obligations.
Research Compliance and Regulatory Oversight
OSR provides institutional oversight and guidance related to research compliance requirements, including human subjects research (IRB), Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR), animal care and use (IACUC) and intellectual property matters. We also support the review and management of Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs), Data Use Agreements (DUAs), Federal Wide Assurances (FWAs) and other research-related agreements.
