Job Description

The Office of Student Involvement is seeking Student Office Assistants to assist with special projects and everyday tasks.  Other duties may be assigned as needed throughout the semester and can vary based on schedule.

Responsibilities may include but not limited too:

Contribute to efficient and smooth operations of the office.

Provide customer service to office visitors.

Work collaboratively with professional staff in OSI.

Assist with projects and initiatives of the department. 

Responsible for understanding the office's operations and for providing superior service to students faculty and staff. 

 

BASIC EXPECTATIONS

 

Attire – Student Office Assistants are expected to wear clean clothes in good condition which are appropriate for the office.  For examples, clothes with holes, inappropriate messages, and alcohol advertisements as well as short skirts or revealing shirts may not be worn in the office.

Physical Requirements – Student Office Assistants must occasionally move equipment or packages which weigh up to 30 pounds.

Attendance – Student Office Assistants are expected to be on time to every shift.  If an employee is going to be late, they must notify an office professional and provide an approximate time when s/he will arrive.  If an employee is ill, s/he must notify an office professional and make an attempt to find a replacement for his/her shift.  If an employee knows in advance that s/he will not be able to work a shift (whether this is due to a schedule conflict or school), s/he is responsible for finding another Student Office Assistant to complete the shift.  Any unexcused absences or repeated tardiness will result in corrective action.  Student employees must clock into their shifts using the College time clock system, located on the third floor of the Hogan Campus Center.
