Job Description

The Event Manager serves as the face of the Office of Student Involvement at OSI sponsored events during the weekend and some week days. Responsible for overseeing weekend programming, the Event Managers assist with event setup and assure that programs function smoothly and in accordance with the College of the Holy Cross policies. Event Manager team members report to the Assistant Director for Events. 

TIME COMMITMENT:

The Event Managers are expected to work weekend shifts and occasional weekday events; each shift will vary in length depending on event needs. Employees are also required to attend a Fall and Spring training session as well as monthly meetings. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Although they provide a variety of services to the student population, primary responsibilities consist of the following: 

  • Assist OSI staff with event setup. 

  • Provide resources and clarify/enforce policies for students attending programs. 

  • Set up technical equipment (i.e. sound systems, spotlights, etc) and OSI equipment (i.e. fire pits). 

  • Periodically check in with staff during events to assure that everything is operating smoothly. 

  • Assure that the event is cleaned up and any borrowed equipment is returned. 

  • Manage crowds and control room capacities.
