Biography
Hello everyone!
I'm Nolane and I will be happy to be your FLA for the next academic year 2025-2026. I'm 21 and I am from Lorraine, France, and I've been living in Strasbourg for 2 years now. It's not the sunniest region in France, but it's eminently historical and played a major role in the 19th and 20th centuries, particularly during the First and Second World Wars. I did a one-year history degree with a preparatory class and I'm currently a second-year student at Sciences Po Strasbourg, where I'm studying history, economics, political science and law.
In addition to my studies, I'm involved in a number of causes that are close to my heart, whether it's the associations present at Sciences Po Strasbourg, where I'm co-president of the interassociative office, which ensures cohesion between the associations and represents them in dealings with the administration. But also, as a tutor in equal opportunity programs where I help middle and high school students to gain self-confidence and not to censor themselves in order to enter the French greats schools. This can be achieved by providing courses and personalized follow-up with each student. Coming to Holy Cross will enable me to continue sharing and exchanging my knowledge.
I describe myself as outgoing, optimistic and spontaneous! I like getting out of my comfort zone and discovering the unknown. In my spare time, I like to pursue my passions, which are running, French literature and in particular 19th-century and, perhaps you've guessed it… history! But above all, in my spare time I like to spend time with my family and friends, whether on a terrace, in a good restaurant, in a park or in a museum.
I can't wait to introduce you to the French-speaking world, France and my native region. Whether it's the history, culture, politics, gastronomy or literature of the French-speaking world. I'd be delighted to introduce you to Frantz Fanon, Marcel Proust and Léopold Sédar Senghor. I'll do my best to make sure that the language of Molière holds no secrets for you!
That's all from me, and I'm sure we'll have a great year!
See you soon!
