Biography
Ciao a tutte e a tutti!
My name is Lisa and I’ll be one of your Italian FLAS for the 2025/2026 academic year.
I’m 22 years old, but I’ll be 23 by the time I’ll get to start this amazing experience. I can’t wait to celebrate it there!
I was born in Florence but I was raised in Monsummano Terme (not known for anything in particular, so unfortunately I can’t give you any fun facts!), a small village about a 50-minute drive from Florence and from the hometown of Pinocchio, Collodi.
I’ve been studying in the beautiful Florence for the last 4 years. I graduated from my Undergraduate degree in Foreign languages and literatures last October, and I am now attending my first year of Master Degree in English and Spanish language and literature. Not surprisingly, I absolutely love learning new languages, as they allow me to do what I love the most: meet new people and learn about other cultures.
As far as my passions, I am – and I have always been – a big bookworm. I read almost every kind of genre, but I mostly tend to stick to fiction. I am open to new book recommendations anytime, and in exchange I can give you many by great Italian writers you may not know!
Another big passion of mine is music, in any shape or form. I can play a few instruments myself (keyboard, saxophone, and ukulele), but one of my greatest hobbies is to attend concerts and listen to live music; as a mattered of fact, my friends jokingly call me ‘the concert girl’ :)
Last but not least, I love traveling and exploring new places, as well as trying as many different types of cuisine as I physically can. It’s my first time visiting the U.S., so I am eager to explore it (even culinarily) in all of its glory.
I am thrilled about this opportunity and I hope to guide you as best as I can in your journey discovering the Italian language. Can’t wait to meet you all!
A presto,
Lisa :)
