Denis McDonoughAbout the Speaker: Denis McDonough served as White House Chief of Staff to President Barack Obama during his second term, from 2013-2017. Previously, he was principal deputy national security advisor.
He is visiting senior fellow in Carnegie’s Technology and International Affairs Program, executive fellow of the Global Policy Initiative at the University of Notre Dame, and senior principal of the Markle Foundation.

About the Talk: McDonough uses personal stories to illustrate how welcoming refugees is a part of the American story. In the midst of the largest refugee crisis since the years after World War II, he advocates for U.S. aid to those nations accepting the largest numbers of refugees and a recommitment to resettle the most vulnerable populations in the United States.
