July 8, 2020

Dear Students and Families,

Below are a few updates for this week. Please read them carefully, as some information has changed since last week. We will continue to keep the COVID-19 Response and Reopening website up to date with the latest information as well.

We will hold two webinars next week for students and parents to answer your questions about the fall semester. Please use the links below to register for either webinar and submit your questions in advance. If any questions arise after you register, you may email them to coronavirus@holycross.edu and we will include them in the webinar Q&A or answer them in future updates. The webinars are as follows:

  • Monday, July 13, 7:30-8:30 p.m. EDT.
  • Wednesday, July 15, 7:00-8:00 p.m. EDT.

Academics and Student Life
We have had a few changes to our schedule for the coming week. We had hoped to send a survey to students today in which they could indicate their intentions for the fall semester. In order to ensure that students have as much information as possible on which to base their decisions, we will now adhere to the following schedule:

  • Saturday, July 11 - Course schedule information will be available to students. Students will also receive a Preliminary Fall 2020 Guide, which will contain information about academics and student life, as well as the request for intentions about the fall semester.
  • Sunday, July 19 - Student Acknowledgment and Statement of Intention due back to the College.
  • Tuesday, July 21 - Students who intend to live on campus will gain access to the system to complete the housing contract.
  • Thursday, July 23 - Housing contract is due.

Study Abroad
The College has made the difficult decision not to sponsor any Study Abroad programs for the fall semester, due to CDC and State Department international travel advisories that remain in place as well as restrictions by many countries on international travelers. No decision has yet been made regarding the spring semester. Students who were scheduled to study abroad this fall will be a part of the process outlined above to declare their intentions with regards to returning to campus and participating in the housing process.
