The Libraries remain committed to supporting students, faculty and staff throughout the College's transition to distance learning.
Access to Resources
We know that many students rely upon library resources to complete their academic work, and we are working with faculty to help ensure continued access to those resources. Although the libraries are not currently open to students, students may also request that portions of books be scanned to them through our Document Delivery service. We are additionally working with students on an individual basis to investigate access to materials they may need. If you are unable to access a resource that you need to complete your coursework, please contact email@example.com and we will work with you to explore options.
For more information about resource access, please see our guide to Remote Research.
Student Research Support
Holy Cross Research Librarians continue to be available for research support through all of the usual channels, including the Personal Research Session program. Students may sign-up for a 30-minute virtual Personal Research Session with a professional librarian. PRS offer individualized assistance with topic development, searching, citations and all other aspects of the research process, customized to the student's needs at that point in time. Appointments are available with any of our research librarians throughout the week, including some evenings and weekends. Librarians will accommodate whatever means of contact works best for each student, including Zoom, Google Hangouts, telephone, chat, etc.
To schedule a Personal Research Session, visit our Appointment Calendar.
Students can also contact a librarian through our centralized e-mail, firstname.lastname@example.org, which is monitored 7 days a week, as well as the Libraries' chat, which is staffed 24/7 in partnership with the AJCU Virtual Reference Project and is staffed by Holy Cross Research Librarians Sun 5-8pm EST, Mon-Thurs 9-8pm EST, and Fri 9-5pm EST.
Note that student research support will continue to be available on the existing schedule throughout the Summer 2020 term.
Dinand Library is currently open Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, for faculty pick-up of materials. Faculty may request pick-up of print materials from all three campus libraries by contacting email@example.com or placing a Document Delivery request, for pick-up at the Dinand front desk.
The Libraries are actively working to support faculty in the transition to online learning. We encourage faculty to contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 508-793-2642 if there is anything that we can do to assist you.
More detailed information about services available for faculty support is available on our guide to Remote Research.
