Offer well-wishes to Fr. Boroughs or share a memory. These will be printed in a keepsake book for him before he leaves campus.
Over his nine years as president, Fr. Boroughs presided over numerous ambitious initiatives that will enhance opportunities to develop our students minds, bodies and spirits for generations to come.
Under his leadership, the Become More fundraising campaign raised $420 million, $20 million more than the goal. The campaign fundraising efforts resulted in the launches of the J.D. Power Center for Liberal Arts in the World and the Ciocca Center for Business, Ethics and Society. Building projects include the construction and opening of the Thomas P. Joyce Contemplative Center, the renovation and expansion of the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex, the Joanne Chouinard-Luth Recreation and Wellness Center, and the groundbreaking for the Prior Center for Performing Arts.
Other initiatives included maintaining a robust financial aid program to meet the full demonstrated financial need of accepted students; strengthening academic offerings, teaching and learning; developing programming to help students become thoughtful leaders and responsible global citizens; and increasing opportunities for faith formation, reflection and discernment. Fr. Boroughs also guided the College through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thank you, Fr. Boroughs, for your unwavering commitment to Holy Cross, your belief in the importance of a Jesuit and liberal arts education, and your deeply held belief that Holy Cross graduates can make a disproportionate difference in our world.
