Established in 2016, the Holy Cross Wind Ensemble is our newest performing group and is a significant addition to the Holy Cross Bands. Comprised of forty-five musicians, it is also the largest instrumental ensemble at the College. The Wind Ensemble is open to any student with prior background on a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument who desires to stay involved in instrumental music performance while attending Holy Cross.
The Wind Ensemble is open to all members of the Holy Cross community, including students, administrators, faculty, staff and alumni. It is important that our students are able to participate with members of the community who view music making as a part of their lifestyle and who are eager to share their life-long commitment to music with our students. Students of any major are invited to join and currently, eighteen different majors are represented in the ensemble. New in AY 2019, students may elect to receive credit for participating in the ensemble by enrolling in MUSC 113 — Wind Ensemble. The Holy Cross Wind Ensemble presents concerts during the fall and spring semesters featuring standard and contemporary literature for wind band and chamber ensembles.
