Spirit Programs

The College of the Holy Cross Spirit Programs consists of Cheer, Marching Band, and Pep Band. These groups promote school spirit and engage in fan experience opportunities campus wide. We are actively seeking new members to participate in our programs.

Bands

Dating back to 1845, the band program at Holy Cross has one of the longest running legacies of any organization on campus. The Holy Cross Bands provides numerous performance opportunities in a variety of settings.

Goodtime Marching Band (GTMB)

The Goodtime Marching Band (GTMB) is one of the most visible performing ensembles on campus.  The performances consist of playing popular music in the stands, during pregame engagements and halftime shows. The GTMB is one of the few marching bands in the Patriot League, enabling Holy Cross to create a unique game day atmosphere and fan experience for the Division I football events. The GTMB season begins with band camp prior to classes beginning. It is a great opportunity to make new friends at the beginning of the semester. During the academic year, the GTMB rehearses twice a week during the fall semester, and every Saturday morning before a game.

Bettertime Pep Band

The Holy Cross Bettertime Pep Band is organized in early October with performances beginning in early November and concluding in March. The band performs at men’s and women’s home basketball games, select ice hockey games, and at other college functions and sporting events by invitation. The purpose is to support Holy Cross athletic teams enthusiastically and to entertain our Holy Cross fans in the Hart Center with a variety of musical styles. Though the majority of the membership is comprised of those enrolled in the Goodtime Marching Band, the pep band is open to all students on campus with prior experience on wind, percussion, electric guitar, piano, and bass instruments.
