Ballroom dance lessons are offered to anyone who is a student, faculty member, or alumni of Holy Cross and the Colleges of Worcester Consortium.
You do not need any previous dance experience to join!
Our ballroom dance lessons are held every Monday night at 6pm with our coaches, Roxanna and Jared. Additionally, we have a less formal team practice every Thursday night at 6:30pm.
The location and time of our practices are subject to change. Please check your email to stay up to date with any changes that may occur.
Our coaches offer lessons in American style ballroom dance, ranging from the Newcomer level, to advanced. Lessons are generally a review of the patterns we've already learned, in addition to new material. Other than the main American style ballroom dances, our coaches also mix it up with social dances.
Main Dances Taught at Lessons:
Rhythm: Cha Cha, Swing, Rumba
Smooth: Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango
Additional Ballroom Dances:
Hustle, Mambo, Bolero, Viennese Waltz, Salsa, and more!
Country Line Dance, Samba Line Dance, and more!
Newcomer, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Open (in that order)
Dues are $25 per student per semester. You don’t have to pay until the end of the third Monday you attend so there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t try it out a couple of times and see how much fun dancing can be! The $25 entitles you to attend all of the Monday night classes and Thursday night practice sessions, as well as our social dances and our competition in February.
One-on-one coaching sessions may also be available for an additional fee for those who want to learn more or need a little help with the latest steps and patterns.
