Biography
My name is Sisary or Sisa. I’m your new Spanish FLA. Lima-Perú is where I’ve spent most of my life. I graduated as a sociology major focused on gender and sexuality studies a couple of years ago. Since, I’ve been involved in local research work and helping international exchange students navigate academic life at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
As an undergraduate, I did a two semester long study abroad program at UW Madison. I learned so much, not only from academic culture, but also about the midwest and its kindness. Sharing learning spaces with people from different parts of the world was a beautiful experience. As part of Campus Women’s Center and Memorial Library staff, I enjoyed two of my passions: feminist analysis and books.
I also speak French, and what I love about languages is the chance to broaden understanding of the world from different perspectives. It feels challenging in a celebratory way. One final thing, I love music. Playing guitar and singing are my absolute favorite hobbies.
