Hi everybody! My name is Marie and I will be your new French FLA. I am 24 years old and I come from Strasbourg. In spring, my favorite place in the city is the “Place de la République” with its gorgeous magnolias, as you can see on the picture!
I am a master’s student in anglophone studies, and I am currently writing my research paper on the pictorial representation of Victorian women. I love speaking English and learning about anglophone cultures. I am deeply interested by arts, history, cinema, literature and of course, languages and travelling! Speaking different languages is a way to connect with people from the entire world which I find extremely enriching. During my childhood, I attended a bilingual school where I learned to speak German. I also learned to speak Spanish in high-school.
I cannot wait to meet you all and tell you about French language and French culture. As you may know, France is well-known for its culinary delicacies. You are lucky: I like cooking and baking! When I have some free time, I enjoy drawing, painting, reading or going to dance lessons.
Coming to the College of the Holy Cross is for me an incredible opportunity and I am looking forward to share with you my love for French culture and language.
A bientôt, Marie
