Academic Year Program Requirement
Students applying to programs in non-English speaking countries normally must have successfully completed a minimum of two years of college-level instruction (e.g. completion of 201/202 or equivalent) in the language of their host country by the end of their sophomore year. Spanish usually requires a fifth semester (e.g. 301/302 or equivalent). Occasionally, students are accepted on condition that a summer language program is successfully completed. These courses cannot be used to make up any college deficiencies and are separate from the required Pre-University language courses in your host country.
Semester Program Requirement
Students applying for semester programs in Coruña and Strasbourg must have compelling curricular reasons for going for the semester only. These are language intensive courses. Students must have successfully completed 301/302 or the equivalent in the target language. In some cases for students applying to Strasbourg students at the 201/202 level will be permitted to apply.
