Associate Provost for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Amit provides leadership on a number of institutional priorities, including faculty & staff hiring, the creation and implementation of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Working Group Plan, and curricular development. He works collaboratively with offices and departments to infuse mission driven principles of diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the campus. Amit supervises the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, The Office of International Students, and Academic Services and Learning Resources. Amit works closely with several offices through a dotted line structure (PDF), including the Office of Admissions, Alumni Relations, Office of Multicultural Education, Assessment, and Human Resources.
Amit Taneja was born and raised in India, and his family migrated to Canada in 1994. He is a first-generation college student and completed a B.A. in Psychology from the University of British Columbia, and an M.A. in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University. He is currently completing his doctorate in Higher Education at Syracuse University. His research focuses on the intersections of race, class, gender and sexual orientation for LGBT students of color on historically white college campuses.
Amit formerly served as the Chief Diversity Officer at Hamilton College. He has taught academic courses in Sociology, Women’s Studies, First Year Forum, and the Summer Start program at Syracuse University. He has facilitated numerous intergroup dialogues on race, gender, and sexual orientation. He previously served as the Co-chair of the Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals and has worked professionally in Residence Life, Disability Services, Multicultural Affairs, LGBT Resources, and as a Special Assistant on Equity to the Senior Vice-Provost. Amit is a Certified Affirmative Action Professional (C.A.A.P.) and serves as a consultant and speaker on a range of leadership, diversity and inclusion topics. He currently serves as the President and Co-Chair of the Liberal Arts Diversity Officers Consortium.

Kasey focuses on institutional priorities that foster an inclusive and equitable campus culture for faculty, staff, and students. He serves on a number of working groups and committees at the College, including the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Implementation Team, LGBTQIA+ Policy & Procedure Task Force, Student Emergency Aid Committee, the Bias Response Team, Accessible Technology Working Group, and the Mission & Identity Committee. In collaboration with Human Resources, Kasey leads the Mission & Diversity Ambassadors – a program with trained staff member who serve on student-facing and high-impact decision making staff searches.
Since 2012, Kasey has served at the Gender + Equality Center at the University of Oklahoma, Office Multicultural Affairs and LGBTQIA+ Program at the University of Texas at Arlington, and now, since June 2019, at the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the College of the Holy Cross. His current and previous experiences have an intersectional approach with a focus on racial and social justice, accessibility, Multicultural Affairs, LGBTQIA+ resources and education, gender-based violence prevention and advocacy, sexual health education, and program and curriculum development.
Kasey received his Master of Education degree in Adult and Higher Education and Bachelor of Arts in Letters from the University of Oklahoma.
Kasey was awarded the 2017 Award for Promising New Professional by the Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals and the 2017 Voices of Courage Award by the University of Oklahoma Women’s and Gender Studies Program.
