In honor of the late Ogretta McNeil, Associate Professor Emerita of Psychology and ALANA mentor & friend, alumni and students are invited to participate in roundtable discussions to share their experiences at Holy Cross.  Conversation will be facilitated by alumnae volunteers from the Classes of 2012 and 2013.

Hear about experiential learning at Holy Cross and the new J.D. Power Center in a panel discussion featuring alumni and students who have participated in experiential opportunities such as Study Abroad, Research and Community Based Learning projects.

Holy Cross has one of the best alumni networks in the country and has helped students and alumni alike. Hear alumni and students share their stories of how Holy Cross alumni helped shaped their personal and professional journeys in this panel discussion.

The College of the Holy Cross will award an honorary degree to prominent litigation attorney and alumnus Theodore V. “Ted” Wells Jr. ’72, co-founder and former president of the BSU.

8:00 pm    Premiere of the BSU 50th Anniversary Documentary

Join us for a showing of this film created by Kona Khasu '92 which recounts and celebrates the history and legacy of the Black Student Union at Holy Cross.

9:00 – 10:00 pm    The Griot
Hogan Campus Center, Ballroom
A griot is a West African historian, storyteller, praise singer, poet, or musician. The griot is a repository of oral tradition. The Black Student Union continues this tradition with spoken word by students and alumni, musical performances. Hosted by the current Black Student Union.

In the last 50 years, what influence has the Black Student Union had on the College of the Holy Cross and the students, from many backgrounds, who have made the trek to Mount St. James? What have we learned, and what does the future hold? Past Chairs and Current Leadership discuss the legacy of the BSU in a fishbowl-style conversation.
