Unity Week: Bridging the Gap

The Student Government Association is excited to announce the 17th Annual Unity Week,  March 13th-23rd, 2018. This year’s Unity Week theme is Bridging the Gap, with a goal of providing an opportunity for different populations on our campus to learn and increase their awareness of challenges and experiences of marginalized groups. Unity Week programming aims to encourage members of the campus to engage with topics and discussions to bridge the gap between comfort zones and the unknown. Our hope is that Unity Week will help build a more inclusive and equitable campus community through thoughtful dialogue and mutual understanding.

Events will be taking place all week, sponsored by a variety of organizations and offices on campus. This year’s Unity Week Speaker is Roxane Gay, the New York Times bestselling author, social and cultural critic, who will be coming to campus on March 22nd for a moderated discussion with Greta Kenney, the Director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Doors will open at 6:30PM, and the conversation will begin at 7PM. The event is free, but will be ticketed. Tickets are available here.

Tickets will become available on Friday, March 2nd. Priority for tickets will be given to the Holy Cross community until Monday, March 19th. If available, tickets will then become open to the public.

We hope to see you all at several of our Unity Week events.
