Commencement is a joyous occasion for Holy Cross families. It is also a moment when graduating seniors and their parents celebrate by making a gift commitment to honor their time at the College. Through dedicated leadership, members of the Senior Parent Gift Committee inspire high levels of participation, enhancing Holy Cross' reputation as one of the top liberal arts institutions in America.

On behalf of the entire Senior Parent Gift Committee, we hope you will join our effort to preserve our children’s Holy Cross legacy by helping us raise $500,000 in annual gifts this year.

In recognition of your unique relationship with Holy Cross, please know that you can direct your gift or pledge through this fundraising effort to any of the College’s priorities – Holy Cross Fund/Parent’s Fund, Academic Excellence, Faith and Service, Financial Aid, and Athletics Excellence.

Our fundraising goal is ambitious, yet we know many hands make light work, and with a class of 834 students, all of us coming together, we will make this possible.

Funding Priorities

Holy Cross Fund/Parent’s Fund: Gifts to the Holy Cross Fund/Parent’s Fund support every aspect of the College – students, faculty, academic programs, residential life, facilities, student activities, athletics, and more. Every unrestricted gift to this area has a multiplier effect in that each contribution is equal to an endowed fund more than 20 times that amount.

Academic Excellence: A gift designated to academic excellence helps provide our faculty the resources and support to create classes, labs, research opportunities, and technological ventures that allow our students to work at levels they never imagined possible in an undergraduate experience.

Faith and Service: Gifts directed toward faith and service help to provide Holy Cross students the plentiful opportunities to participate in highly personal faith experiences, as well as service projects and immersion trips, which inspire them to lead lives that reflect Jesuit, Catholic ideals. Annual gifts designated for faith and service support programs that promote faith development, service, and social justice.

Financial Aid: Meeting the full-demonstrated need of all admitted students is core to the Holy Cross mission. Annual gifts explicitly designated to financial aid play an essential role in helping the College ensure that a Holy Cross education is accessible to all admitted students by meeting 100 percent of demonstrated need, as calculated according to nationally recognized financial aid criteria.

Athletics Excellence: A gift to the Crusader Athletics Fund allows Holy Cross Athletics to provide the highest quality Division I student-athlete experience. Our student-athletes leave Mount St. James with unique and valuable experiences. A gift to athletics excellence offers support and resources for the College’s 27 varsity programs and 700 student-athletes.
